Engorgement/soreness 7 days PP

Hi all,

I’m 7 days postpartum and my milk ‘came in’ at the end of day 2. I’m still suffering with fluctuating engorgement/soreness, even after feeding, so I’m wondering if this is normal at this stage or if my baby isn’t draining them properly?

I have struggled with his latch as he has such a tiny mouth and my boobs are massive (especially when engorged!) but he is putting on weight and has the right amount of dirty/wet nappies etc, so I know he’s getting what he needs. Just would like the soreness to stop!

I think it is normal, although not very nice right now it does settle. Your breasts are still figuring out how much milk your baby needs. I really found that breastfeeding was hard to start and then got much easier. Enjoy your new baby.
