How much and how many bottles should my 7 month old be having?

Hi! I have a 7 month old baby girl and she has 5oz bottles every 3-5 hours. I've just read on the back of the formula tin she should be drinking 7oz 3 times a day! Am I doing something wrong here? She won't drink more than 5oz in a feed we've tried and it ends up getting wasted, she has a bottle at 8pm, 11pm (dream feed), 5am ish, 8/9am, 1pm and one around 4/5pm! Sometimes the times vary I wait until she starts to get a bit grumbly before giving her a bottle now and it helps go longer stretches. She's not underweight or overweight and I'm not worried about her weight at all, she has actual food too for breakfast and dinner (she's normally asleep over lunch). She was born an underweight baby who had trouble eating in her first couple days of life but she can now solidly drink 5oz. Am I doing something wrong should she be having less bottles? Any help is appreciated

Nope. Continue with what you're doing. The info on the back of formula is a guide but doesn't mean all that much. My daughter was like yours, never had a full bottle or went log stretches, she preferred less but more often, so that's what we did. As long as baby is happy and growing well, no need to change how you're doing things x

My 7 month old has different amounts at each bottle. Could be 8oz could be 3😂 they have roughly 5 bottles a day and has been gaining weight steadily. As mention before, it’s just a guide, each baby is different. My lo would throw a fit if they only had 3 bottles a day. Keep going as you are if baby is happy x

You're doing nothing wrong at all. The information on the Cartons can be a bit misleading.

At 7 months she should be having as much formula and as often as she wants.

What you're aiming for is to build her up to offering food 3 times a day between 8 and 9 months and reducing her milk to 13.5 floz by the time she hits 10 months.
