Question about BF with big norks!

I BF my first two DC and could never master the art of feeding and having a hand/arm free to eat/drink/turn book pages etc.

I would hold the baby in one arm (one across body, other preferred a rugby ball type hold) and with my free arm, would have to press my nork level with baby's nose to avoid suffocating it!

Did I do it wrong?

I'm expecting DC3 and plan to BF again - is there a way to have a free hand?

with 32H feeding bra's and 32G normal norks I fed with hands free buto only by having a great feeding pillow, it is a long sausage shape, half went round my back to support me the other half was under DS it fully supported him and had microbeads inside so i could make sure his head was fully supported giving me 2 hands free to read a book or have a cuppa.

Thanks for all the replies. That V pillow is mega cheap. Do you think it matters whether I get a V shaped or a sacky one like TF linked to? Suppose at £5.99 I could try the V and get a sack if need be!

lol at " I needed a handtowel"

My SIL measures norks and she did mine (she measured someone's norks on 10 Years Younger once -ooh) if you're northern let me know and I'll see if she's coming to a store near you

Another vote for pillow and rolled-up muslin. But it still took quite a lot of effort to keep everything in place.

I just watched tv for the first three months, so I just needed one hand every so often for the remote (!). But after that I could read hardbacks, if I rested them on the pillow too; then dd got too big and there was no room for them...

Great, I feel quite reassured now!
