Hi
could I ask a favour? Anyone have a baby that’s had a bottle aversion and overcome it? Would you be able to write about the aversion and success and the emotions and share it with me? Please And thank you!!
we’ve been through it and finally out the other side!

We introduced a bottle alongside breastfeeding at about 3 weeks to help me get a bit more rest due to a high risk of a severe MH episode. She had periodic feeding and bottle aversions.
I got her through one by offering her an Oz of freshly expressed breast milk after each day time breastfeed feed during the day for 3 days. She started not wanting the bottle near her mouth and accepted it by the third day.

Then the GP prescribed a formula she was allergic too and 1oz resulted in her screaming inconsolably without pause from 7pm until 3am! After this we couldn't hold her and a bottle at the same time. She tried to backflip out of our arms if she saw a bottle. At 10 months I had no choice but to stop breastfeeding. I was in hospital and had to send her home to dad stopping breastfeeding cold turkey. She didn't drink for 26h and then went to nursery and accepted the bottle there. She continued to be formula fed until 2 years
