Baby sucking teat not swallowing

Hi all,

My 13wk old baby breastfeeds well. I have been trying to get him to take one bottle of expressed milk in a bottle a day but he just sucks the teat and hardly swallows. I have tried warming the milk but that hasn't helped.

Any other tips? Got a mama bottle size 1 teat wondering if need to change teat or try a nimby bottle which is more nipple like? Any tips welcome!

My EBF baby never did accept a bottle. My babysitters had to decant milk into cups and feed DC when hungry when I was out or I took baby with me!
My 1st baby was given a bottle for the first 2 weeks because I was isolated, due to unknown illness, so although DC was EBF once we were reunited, it wasn't a problem for babysitters.

One of mine couldn't work out bottles at all.
Got on all right 'lapping' from a bottle lid (sounds mad, I know) but more faff than it was worth.

The other babies didn't care how it came as long as it was breast milk, so the bottle refuser was a puzzle to us.

Interesting! Was hoping if I persisted he would get the hang but doesn't seem to be so think I need a new tactic!
