Hi everyone,

just a desperate mum looking for help!

My little girl has seen the feeding team and they have confirmed she has oral aversion she does have reflux and colic which is managed by gaviscon.

I don’t know what more we can do to help her I’ve taking her to the hospital and stayed in for a few nights so they could watch us every feed they have basically told me there’s nothing they can do to help. she just point blank refuses anything once it touches her face. We have tried absolutely everything to get her to have some milk literally everything we have tried:

different bottles
different milk
different feeding positions
different temp of milk
finger feeding tube
cup feeding her
syringe
leaving her until she’s hungry
dream feeding
trying without the gaviscon

Nothing is working she’s not gaining any weight her weight is stagnant she’s otherwise happy on her self just doesn’t want to eat on a good day she has 11oz when for her age and weight she should be on 36oz she was a diabetic baby so was born chunky but she’s lost all that and am worried she is going to end up really ill.

please any tips on how to overcome bottle aversion x

Poor her and poor you, sounds very stressful. How old is she now? Was she intubated/have a mask on at all when she was first born?

@Usernamewassavedsuccessfully

The opposite she was brought early by c section because she was a GDM baby and on the 99th centile born she’s 4 months old now. I asked over weaning and they don’t want to wean her they want to leave her as late as possible so she doesn’t get feeding aversion too but am thinking if she’s got oral aversion she won’t even be touched on her face
