Watery poo!

Girlymama2 · 02/04/2024 11:24

Hi... My DD no 2 is now almost 9 weeks old and her poo is always loose/watery ...I think she had about 2 bowel movements around 4 weeks which were soft (like mustard Mr whippy!) since then just constantly loose.... Only has on average one movement a day. I did change her from C&g to Aptimil about a week ago because of trapped wind which has definitely helped that issue but stools still just the same.... I'm starting to worry it's an intolerance of some sorts...not spoken to HV as yet...she has her 8 week GP check tomorrow so will mention it to them.... Any opinions/advice 🙏

How is she in herself? Is she generally content during and after a feed or is she crying and refusing to drink?

Is she following her centiles and bright and alert at times?

Sounds like normal baby poo tbh

Do mention to health visitor ( maybe take some photos of nappies?? ) but IME the poop of young babies is usually very runny/watery and starts off a mustard colour then gradually goes a bit darker.
As baby gets a few months older and begins weaning the poop gets more like normal child or adult poop but this takes a while.

My 4 week old babies poo is really watery, like water korma. was this deemed normal?

Girlymama2 · 30/04/2024 09:18

Hi ..I did speak to GP who felt as no other symptoms of allergy e.g. rash or vomiting, that it id likey just normal for her and hopefully will thicken up once on solids. My DD is now 12 weeks and due to see HV today so I will mention it to her as still very watery, although still no other concerns. X

She is growing nicely....can fuss over the bottle after initial few Oz but no other issues. Just very different from my first...her poo was runny for a few weeks but not to this extreme by 2-3 months. Every baby is different I guess it may be just her norm x

Did it look similar to my little ones ( sorry for the photo, I'm out of my mind with worry especially as he was 6 weeks premature! )
