Is this normal 6 week old baby poo

Does the colour of this poo look normal for a 6 week old breastfed baby? He had not done a poo for 2 days, it was runny but thick runny and it’s gone darker than the lighter yellow it was prior, this is the third or fourth poo this colour/texture.

worried we could have CMPA

Looks totally normal to me. Bf babies tend to poo less because there is no waste in breastmilk unlike formula.

Dd’s looked exactly like that until she started weaning. She’d also often go days without a poo, and then have a proper explosion. Usually when I’d forgotten the nappy bag 😅

Poo tends to get a bit darker if it's sitting a while in the nappy Any chance you missed spotting this and changing straight away?

On its own, I wouldn't worry about the colour much, mine both tended to vary quite a bit. Depends what else is making you think CMPA though.

What's in a nappy? - La Leche League GB

As new parents, we suddenly find ourselves examining our babies’ poo more closely than we could ever have imagined. We pay attention to the colour, quantity, texture and smell, and notice the slightest changes. We then go to the internet looking for an...

Thanks both, defo did not miss any of these poos, they were very noisy and baby was in arms, feeding/just fed.

CMPA. GP has referenced could be, baby has been colicky, fussy after some feeds, rashy cheeks, intermittent gunky eyes, congested.

these things could all also be, he has caught the cold his brother had, baby acne and colic.

cokic symptoms got better with anti cooic drops.

im just starting to keep a good diary.
