Infant feeding

Aptamil pepti 1

Hi we have just been prescribed aptamil pepti 1 for our 5 year week old for suspected CMPA and I have a few questions as we left our GP with very little advice:

  • is it possible to buy over the counter so that we have some spare? The amount we have been prescribed is going to have to be used sparingly/ to the exact scoop and my baby cluster feeds so we usually waste a fair bit of normal formula.
  • can you prepare with the tommee tippee machine?
  • is it the same as normal formula in that it must be discarded an hour after baby starts feeding from bottle? The tin says discard immediately but she really likes to graze over an hour with a nappy change halfway through a feed.

Would really appreciate anyone’s advice!

Hii,

My DD was on this from about the same age, she is now turning 4 in may. So it is very much the same as other formula as in to discard after certain time etc. I’m not sure about the prep machine as we did not use one, but I would think it would be fine.

also about the amount of formula I would push tjem for more, just say baby is on 8 oz bottle per feed etc my daughter was also a cluster feeder, and only ever had 2/3oz at a time, but we always were prescribed 5/6 big tubs or 10/12 small tubs. She was prescribed this until she was 2.5y and I had to call to stop the prescription. But this was 2020. And I know now they’re very different with it as my niece is on it and her mum is always requesting more.

But push them for more!
