Hi all,

Hoping for some advice to help a sleep deprived new mum. I've tried googling but then end up down a black hole of information!

Due to various reasons, we've gone from breast feeding to combi feeding to now just formula only so I need to get my head around preparing formula and what you do with preparing bottles in advance, when going out for the day, etc.

We've just used ready mixed formula so far but need to start using powder so ....

How long in advance can you prepare it? Do I keep it in the fridge? If I'm going out for the day, what do I do for feeding and sterilising?

Basically I need an idiots guide to what I need to be doing 🙈

Thanks.

I find you get into your own rhythm with formula feeding.

At home we had this uneeqbaby.com/products/bottle-maker-formula-prop-machine so water kept at the right temp, made the bottle and stood in cold water to cool. Also had the tommee Tippee little pots and measured out all the powder at the start of the day.

Would pre make night feeds, flash cool and store in the fridge.

Out and about depended on when/where/how long. You can keep a bottle for up to 2 hours so sometimes would take one prepared with me if feed was going to be within that time. If we were at someone's house would just take powder and use their kettle. Sometimes would pre-make chill and then take them in this koo-di.com/baby-cooler-bag/

Also always had ready made cartons handy!

Never got into the prep machine method of flask of hot water and flask of cold....

I’d invest in a Nuby Rapid Cool if you can. We made literally every bottle with it, so so handy.
