Underwired nursing bras

Are these ok to wear? I had always thought that underwired bras weren't recommended whilst breastfeeding. However, there are underwired anita nursing bras on figleaves.com with rave reviews. Has anyone else worn these - did you have any problems with blocked ducts etc. Would love to have some bras with underwires to give me a bit more shape as I'm feeling a bit top heavy at the moment and am not a fan of non-wired bras.

Thanks

I wore underwired bras all the way through my pregnancy - until about 38 weeks I think.

I was measured every 4 weeks at Bravissimo to check the fit of my bras. You need to be absolutely sure that the wires are not digging into any of the breast tissue.

Can't help with underwired bras during breastfeeding - sorry. I'm just not sure they would have been comfortable for me as I'm very largly norked.

I have just bought an anita one, it is fab! I now longer have squashed lemons where my boobs used to be! I was a little uncomfy to start off with but I haven't worn underwire for over a year.

Are you pg or bfing? I haven't had any problems with blocked ducts or anything, but then I have been feeding for 9 months so don't suffer from engorgement or anything.

defo recommend it though!

Be careful with underwired bras. They can cause blockage etc even though I know bumperlicious says they didn't with her.

I love my anita bras, have had them for a couple of months now, and have had no problems at all with them so far. I'm a 32H, so got the 34G which fits fine round the cup, but wouldn't mind a smaller back size, if they did them.

Much nicer than walking around with a giant mono boob for months, and I also find non wired ones very uncomfortable by the end of the day.

Like Littlefish said, just make sure the wires don't dig in. I also wore underwired bras all through pregnancy, with no problems.
