7 week old - how often breastfeeding?

Hi all,

Just wondering what your 'norm' was for frequency of BF at around 7 weeks or so?
I was feeding almost every 1-2h until a few days ago where there's been a massive shift. Baby has gone 5-6h at night without waking and is now up to 4h during the day.

Worried as I've been reducing formula (very gradually) so want to make sure this isn't affecting her waking up on time! I am of course keeping an eye on nappies too.

I know every baby is different but would like to know what the norm was for others :)

I think it’s about 7-9 times a day for me since about 8 weeks. Sometimes more but I’d say at least 7. If you have wet and dirty nappies and baby is gaining weight and alert it’s lrobBly fine. Get them weighed if unsure. X

I do remember mine suddenly feeding less often at around the 3 month mark, more like 3-4h rather than 1-2h, bit later than 7 weeks but might just be happening earlier for you. Their feeding pattern changes as their stomachs get bigger and they can take more milk at a time

Thank you both! Keeping a close eye on nappies, hoping she's just having a few sleepy days or is establishing a new pattern! Let's see how it goes 🫣
