Too distracted to feed

I have a 5 1/2 month old, EBF. He will not feed when we are out as he just wants to look around. He will be moany because he is hungry but just will not feed. Even at home, I have to take him to a dark room to feed.

It's getting to the point I feel like we can't go out much as he won't feed and will be grumpy. I have tried to introduce formula to see if that helps but he won't take a bottle.

Does anyone have any advice?

Have you tried a cup? I don't think I'd bother trying to introduce a bottle at this age.

Being distracted is fairly common unfortunately. My DD was better if she had something to occupy her hands, like BFing Jewellery or just my earlobe.

You could also try some Breast Compressions to try and keep him interested for longer.

And I'm not a believer in Women having to cover up when they BF in public but I think in this case it might be worth trying to put a shawl or something like that over him so he can only really see your breast and hopefully, won't be too distracted.
