Baby still possetting at 9 months...

Baby is EBF and has CMPA so we are both dairy free. She's always been a sicky baby, and whilst it's better than it was she's still spitting up numerous times a day. Not in huge amounts but we are still having to wear bibs all day. She is gaining well and following her curve so HVs aren't concerned. No other symptoms (skin, poop etc all normal).

We were told when she hit 6 months it would get better, then when she could sit etc...but nope...for example I fed her at 0650 this morning and since playing on the floor she's had 2 episodes of spit up.

I'm not sure what I'm asking for really, advice? Or just reassurance that it will stop one day! Thanks!

DD1 did this until 18 months. I remember checking the NHS website and they say before 18 months it's not viewed as a problem.

But yes, she doesn't do it any more (though she has a tendency to cough herself sick if she has a cough, and I wonder if it's related). So from my experience, it will stop one day!

I remember the helpful comments about it getting better soon too - I'm sure people mean well but then when it doesn't improve after sitting up/ starting solids/ whatever it's a bit frustrating.

My son did this until 12/13 months old and he just stopped one day. A lot of washing and a stylish bib selection was needed, but no professional was worried at all as long as he was distressed by it and as long as he was gaining weight.

Thankyou @limpingparrot and @limpingparrot

It's good to know I'm not alone! Did your babies have any food allergies? My daughter has a cows milk allergy, and I can't help but wonder if the spit up is linked to another food allergy or if it's just going to be one of those things!

Mine had quite bad reflux and did this until about 14 months, when he started walking. Basically once he was spending most of his time upright, not crawling.

No-one I mentioned it to was concerned, he was comfortable and gaining weight so no problem. I did have an appointment with a pediatrician at about 18 months just to check it had stopped, as it was flagged at his 12 month check.
