Unsure on feeding advice from Health Visitor

My 8mo has on average 600ml a day of formula. She doesn't have a set feeding routine and usually eats little and often and can have up to 7 bottles a day. Does not have a feed at night unless she wakes and hasn't eaten enough during the day. Some feeds she will take 150ml sometimes only 60ml.

She isn't really interested in solids at all, the health visitor told me to cut back on her milk so that she is hungry for foods and it could take her a few weeks to adjust (essentially a few weeks of being hungry to work out to eat more solids), this to me doesn't sound right, I have tired only offering 4 bottles a day to see if she will take more but she doesn't and then will only end up having 300-400ml a day. So I am reluctant to cut back on milk at 8mo but I am worrying that she is never hungry enough to actually want to eat.

Today I have barely been able to get 400ml in her and offered 3 meals and she tried a little but barely touched it.

Has anybody been in a similar position?

I think by 10 months you're aiming at 400 ml a day, dropping to 300 ml of full fat cow's milk between 12 and 24 months. I'd perhaps drop a bottle in a couple of weeks, then another in a month and see if she she adjusts to eating a little more Wink
