Feeding expressed milk at night - any tips?

Baby is 14 weeks old and EBF. I want to try and encourage period back and read that dropping night feeds can do this. We tried it but it's such a faff, does anyone have any tips for making it easier?

We use defrosted breastmilk which only lasts 2 hours once at room temp so we put it in a nanobebe cooler bag with ice pack. When she wakes it is really cold so then need to warm it up somehow. At the moment night wakes are 20-30 mins with boob feed and nappy change but with the bottle it was 60mins+. Is that just the reality of bottle feeding? Would switching to formula at night be easier?

Also have no idea how much she drinks so ended up putting it in the bottle 20ml at a time which means we have to keep topping it up and she takes in more air. Just hate the thought of wasting pumped milk!

breastmilk is ok the fridge for 4 days so I just pop the bottle in hot water while doing nappy and it’s usually warm enough. It’s deffo not as quick as breastfeeding tho as takes longer to settle and burp. I would do it in 5-6oz and be ok with throwing some away if needed

Thank you @Tryingtohelp12 I think I'll cry wasting breast milk but sounds like it's inevitable if I bottle feed!

Do you know if pumping still keeps periods away? Will I have to actually let the supply dry up at night?

im not sure to be honest… my baby (no idea how!) mostly sleeps from 9/10pm till about 6am (he’s 9weeks) so I’m technically not giving a bottle overnight. I’ve been pumping before I go to bed to stop my boobs exploding. I’m also the opposite of you and not keen for period to come back so not too sure!! Good luck cx
