Hi all you knowledgeable mummies!👋
My daughter is 12 weeks old and has been on gaviscon for about 9 weeks now due to reflux which has helped alot, but the only problem I'm finding is that gaviscon makes the milk thicker which blocks the size 1 teat on my tommee tippee bottles!
I could scream because I tried the size 2 and its just to bloody fast now, which I think has caused dd to not want to drink at all now!
Feeling very stressed, I've tried all this before with my other dc's with poking bigger holes/slices in bottle teats etc with no luck, and I just wondered if there was some magic tip or trick that I don't know about, that helps my little one drink fully and be content??? Please help

Can you try without the gaviscon? Sometimes reflux is just when they’re tiny and their tummies aren’t used to digesting formula so it makes them very uncomfy.

I would also have a look at paced feeding if you want to size up the teat. It allows baby to control the flow of milk themselves so it’s no too fast for them, and they generally eat better this way.

@Queijo literally tried last week without gaviscon and it was a complete nightmare because she projectile vomits everywhere poor little girl! I generally pace feed anyway I just follow her lead but because the size 1 gets gaviscon essentially stuck in the teat and she gets really bored of sucking really hard so falls asleep, and then size 2 she will take but I can see that it is uncomfortable for her to feed from so she constantly is stopping and gulping and then that sometimes activates her gag reflex which then ends up with it going all down her! I've had 5 children and I can't believe that no one has come up with a teat that is specially designed for awkward milk, it's beyond me especially as so many babies suffer with reflux!
