Blockfeeding 9 week old now fussing

I wonder if anyone can provide some reassurance. My 9 week old has been EBF but we were both experiencing side effects of over supply (mainly for him, explosive poos, not being able to latch due to engorgement and horrendous reflux/wind). I block fed for 24hours and since then my boobs are incredibly soft and now he's struggling to latch on for the opposite reason. He's also now feeding every hour, sometimes half an hour after the previous feed. Have I completely mucked up and ruined my supply?! Totally regretting the blockfeeding at this stage even though he is less fussier after feeding.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come along but my first thought is that if you just keep doing what you're doing and follow baby's lead your supply should start to regulate and match baby's demand again. I'm sure you haven't 'mucked up' anything and are doing amazing ❤️

How about calling the National Breastfeeding Helpline on 0300 100 0212 and chatting to one of the trained volunteers there?

@Bert2e thank you I will do, I didn't even know there was one 🙏🏼

@Tafaa thanks for your kind words. I'm hoping his cluster feeding will bring it back a little x

How are you doing?

FfoxRedN · 18/02/2024 09:17

@Preggopreggo hey, luckily after a couple of days of cluster feeding it has levelled out and baby is now doing great! Much better latch, regular poos and he's not 'as' refluxy!
Just beware the blockfeeding is way more effective than I thought jt was so for anyone trying do it gradually xx
