Toddler - bottle transition for night feeds and routine

Hi everyone

I have an 18 month old and we need to transition him from his night bottle to something else, as I read all the advise about getting them off a bottle by now - any tried and tested alternatives for his milk?

also any advise to try and get him off the feeds through the night? He wakes a couple of times and uses them to soothe but drinks about 8 oz through the night

not to be needy, but any examples of your night routine would be hugely appreciated too 😊 e.g, do you do bath, bottle and teeth?

At 18 months I'd might wean him.

They don't need night feeds from 12 months as their rate of growth is slowing down and they only actually need 300 ml of full fat cow's milk a day anyway which can easily be achieved during the day Wink

I slowly started changing my toddlers routine by I trussing more of a sippy cup for her milk. I gave her milk not long after dinner with a little supper/snack and then waited half an hour or so and then did bath and bedtime routine. If she has any milk left then we take the cup upstairs to finish after bath. If not I ask her to leave it on the table.

Sadly no help with the night feeds . My dd dropped them as soon as she can as she wasn’t a big fan of milk apparently!

He’s gotten so reliant on it, it’s become a bit of a chore to try and tackle, because I’m unsure how to soothe him without his milk 😩 I think I’m just nervous to do it and have the rough nights incoming

I’ll have a look and see what bottle alternatives I can find
