Overfed Baby?

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help.
I recently had to stay in the children's hospital with my 2 month old. I told the overnight nurse staff that my baby is on Nutramigen 1 and has 5 bottles at 6oz in a 24 hr period, as per the feeding guidelines, anyway, one night, a member of staff took my child out of his cot during the night and fed him twice, whilst I was asleep, without asking me first. Baby was sleeping next to me, so if they were hungry I would've been woken up by the stirring. As a result, baby ended up drinking more bottles throughout the day and was vomiting a lot (baby also has reflux) and ever since baby has been wanting more bottles. I'm a bit concerned that baby was being overfed, and that this has messed up baby's feedings and hunger cues. What should I do?
Thank you in advance.

I've not had a child in hospital at that age (hope they're recovering well), but it's worth asking the team why they fed baby without your consent?? It's all a bit of a guessing game on how much you child will drink/ how hungry they are at that age, especially if they're vomiting up with reflux. Might be worth increasing quantity ever so slightly for a day or two and seeing how things go?

I think you’ve got extremely angry at your baby being taken and fed without your permission (I understand the annoyance), but you’re using that as a reason to find fault I think. Your baby having a bit more milk than you would have given it for one night once, has not suddenly led to it being overfed with messed uk hunger and feeding cues. Their feeding needs change all the time. Mine were bf on demand and I couldn’t even tell you how much they took and when. When they acted hungry I fed them

Sorry, probably should've said, I'm a first time mum and had already just upped his milk intake, and with him being bottle fed, I'm aware it's easier to overfeed. I was just wanting to make sure that wasn't the case, as I know it can lead to problems. I'm not angry at the situation, just making sure. Baby is fine, thank you, just had a rash that alarmed me, but was diagnosed to do with his milk protein allergy.

Thanks for the advice. Will continue to monitor the situation.

At only 5 bottles a day, how long is your baby going between feeds? Mine were still feeding every 3 hours ish at that age so would have more like 7 or 8 feeds in 24 hours. If they asking for more bottles that suggests they're hungry and can't go 4 or 5 hours between feeds.

With reflux it's maybe better to have smaller feeds more often anyway so as not to overload their stomach.
