How often does your breastfed baba feed during the day?

My darling daughter is 3 weeks old. I swear she feeds more often than what her brother did. I'm sure they are supposed to feed 12x in 24 hours. She does way more than that. I may start counting. Anyone recommend an app? Like I give her both boobs than another boob. She struggles to get wind up sometimes. She is doing a lot better getting it up but I think she must have a bad belly as roots again for the boob even tho she's had a really good feed. I still give her it. I know she's cluster feeding. Her brother is still breastfeeding. I know ill be making extra milk because of it as she chokes sometimes on my milk. I'm just glad she's a good feeder.

Whats everyone else's experience 😊

Both of mine used to snack feed a lot- sure they latched on thirty times a day! Glad to be done with it all now!

Huckleberry is the app we've used. You can log feeds, nappies, sleep, medication, solids, activities etc.

We only use it for feeds, nappies, sleep and solids now we've started weaning.

My daughter is nearly 6 months, but she fed so much when she was first born! She still has about 15 feeds in a 24 hour period, but this has reduced quite a bit, which probably gives you some indication of what the newborn days were like!

I used to get comfy with snacks and a good TV series to binge 😊

Huckleberry is a brilliant app. I use it to log everything!
my 9 week old does on average 10 feeds in a 24 hr period but it definitely feels like more when she’s cluster feeding on an evening.

At that age mine was feeding absolutely non stop, it felt insane. I tracked it on the Huckleberry app and she was feeding for around 8 hours per day.

It finally started to calm down at about 8 weeks but she still feeds up to 4 hours a day at 11 weeks.

As long as weight gain and nappies are ok then generally the advice is to just go with it. It's exhausting though isn't it.

When dd was that age she just fed pretty much constantly! Not an exaggeration either, she got to 98th centile after a few months. However, she’s now 2y and feeds for 10 minutes at night (and is lovely healthy weight/height measurements). It does gradually settle down and get less intense and exhausting. I began logging it, but stopped because I found it more stressful trying to remember and, as her weight gain was fine, it wasn’t necessary.
