Formula Feeding Whilst Abroad

Hi! Looking for advice on formula feeding whilst holidaying abroad over summer. Will be going to Greece. Looking for help on sterilising, what travel equipment have you found useful for feeding, any guidelines on taking enough formula through the airport and enough for full journey etc! Should i take the premade sealed bottles you can buy for the journey? Help needed please and thanks in advance for your advice

We went to Bali when our son was 7 months. Took all his bottles in a big Tupperware box and used cold water tablets to sterilise everything in that box. Took three tubs of sealed formula which was plenty. Used cooled boiled tap water or bottles water of we were out and about. Exactly the same process as we did at home x

Firstly I would contact the hotel and see if they provide any baby equipment.
We went to turkey in 2022, when dd2 was 6 months and our hotel provided a an electric steriliser (as well as cot, baby bath, monitor) which meant I just packed sterilised bottles in our hand luggage and used the pre made formula at the airport/on the plane for ease. Then used the formula tablets (aptamil do them, each tablet is 1 scoop) while away so no hassle with measuring out powder.

Thank you for your replies! Sounds like it will be straightforward. Did you find any issues going through the airport?

we had no problems at all. Some airports allow you to preorder items to collect in departures (depending on the airport) so you may find it easier to order the formula to collect to save you carrying it. They were fine with us taking it through tho. We also took a load of food/fruit pouches with us too which they were fine with.

Would really appreciate advice on formula bottle feeding my baby when away from the house for long days/on holiday. (Assume no access to cafe/water from a source whilst out)

  1. If I use pre-made formula, say Kendamil or Cow and Gate 200ml bottles, once I pour this into a sterile capped bottle, can I re-pour over a period? She typically doesn't drink 200ml in one sitting... but I don't know how long I can leave the bottle before it becomes unusable. Perhaps, whatever isn't poured in sitting one, is waste?
  1. I use a tommee tippee prep machine at home, super efficient and want the best possible alternative whilst away, what sterilisation and quick bottle making options do people recommend?

Ultimately, we want to limit faff, carry as little as possible whilst feeding safely. My daughter is currently 6 weeks old.
