Nutramigen / CMPA

Hi!
My LB is 13 weeks old and has always suffered terribly with reflux, wind/flatulance, eczema, rashes, watery and painful poops (although only going at most once a day).
Drs have prescribed nutramigen and I have added in carobel to thicken as LB is used to cow and gate anti-reflux. He has started TODAY (key info I think!)
My question (cry for help) is this...
although my baby seems to have taken to this formula well now that we have added in the thickened (doesn't refuse and is eating it instantly) he has drastically reduced how much he is eating.
He was drinking 7/8 oz a bottle on cow and gate anti-reflux and is now taking between 2-4oz today. Is this normal? Will he increase he feeds again?
TIA 🥰

Normally babies with CMPA will drink more milk as they have a sore tummy (=hungry)

If little one is feeling better then they might start to take a bit less as they are right sizing their feed again. I found I had to feed little and often with the new formula - it also tastes rank so might just be taking enough to not feel hungry anymore.

Give it a little time - hopefully it will start to normalise for you soon when baby manages to get all of the cow milk out of their system.

I'd give his body a chance to get rid of the old formula, usually takes a couple of weeks. He's not going to be feeling 100% until all the milk is out of his system. See how he goes then and hopefully he will have upped his intake. It's awful i know when the thing you thought was nourishing them is what has been causing them pain. Mine ended up on soya formula and was so much better for it. Just keep an eye on it and contact GP if he hasnt started taking more in a few weeks time
