Nipple shields for fast milk flow?

I have no idea why, but when I BF around 6pm, my milk flow seems to be too fast for DS and he ends up choking and crying. This doesn't happen at any other time of day. I read that you can slow the flow down by using nipple shields - is it worth buying some do you think?

Thanks,
Angela

Yes I think nipple shields can help with in cases of over-active let down reflex where the baby has difficulty handling the flow...but they do have some disadvantages so it's always best to use them with the support of a qualified BFC/lactation consultant. Have you spoken with anyone about this, MW or the main bfing organisations?
