Descaling

I've never descaled my steriliser. My baby is 9 weeks old and I've had her electric steam steriliser since she was about 2-3 weeks old. I saw boots did a descaler that has now been discontinued so don't know what else to use. I use oust for my kettle but don't know if this is suitable. I don't know why it wouldn't be suitable but I know with the kettle I have to boil it a few times. There's other liquid and powder ones for the kettle, has anyone used any of these or do you have another method?

Will it need descaling after 6 weeks? What do the instructions say?

I don't think it does say anything I'll have to look. It just looks disgusting and flaky in the base.

I use white vinegar on mine (tomee tippee). I just pour it onto the baseplate and leave it for an hour or so then give it a wipe. I do mine every 2 weeks, but I live in a hard water area.

I use clear vinegar for all descaling. Works perfectly and no need to worry about chemicals. Super cheap too. For the steriliser I used to add 50/50 vinegar to water and turn it on.
