Silent reflux but happy?

7 week old DS is showing signs of silent reflux. He has frequent hiccups, sometimes hear milk coming back up. Hes very noisy in the early hours grunting. Doesn’t often spit up but occasionally if overeaten. He is ebf and latch isn’t perfect. Sometimes he’s gulping milk. No arching back during feeding or otherwise but does get a bit fussy sometimes if milk is coming too fast or not fast enough (not sure which). Hes also very congested at night. Does a lot of sticking his tongue out and “chewing”

He will nap in the day in a carrier but we have to keep moving. At night we cosleep but he happily sleeps on his back. He is generally happy on his back during the day to play if he’s not tired.

We don’t get long periods of crying as you’d expect with reflux but he does take a lot of work to settle to sleep.

If he’s not bothered by the wet hiccups and regurgitation do I need to be? Would it need treatment if he’s generally contented?

It doesn't sound too bad, quite normal actually. Apart from maybe the congestion, that could be an intolerance to something you're eating.

A GP wouldn't normally be concerned unless it was affecting weight gain. At most they would probably prescribe gaviscon if you wanted to go down that route. It's a bit of a faff when ebf though, but doable.
