My baby is 7 months old and has been eating 1-2 solid meals a day and today I was so busy I brought a jar of baby food in her baby bag but I didn’t stop at any point today and forgot to give it to her on the way home I realized and thought I’ll feed her when we get home I tried to but she was really tired and crying and wouldn’t eat it so she just had her bottle instead and went to bed she did have her usual number of bottles today but I forgot to give her a solid meal

Don’t worry about it, babies her age still get all their daily needs from milk. I did BLW with mine and she was eating very very little at that age.

Dynamoat · 19/12/2023 21:02

My dc1 refused all solids until 11 months. I think you're fine. Food before 1 is just for fun.

Singleandproud · 19/12/2023 21:03

Food before one is just for fun. She'll be fine. However, the fact you didn't stop to feed her means you probably didn't stop to feed yourself either. You just need a better routine, keep some appropriate snacks with, banana is great as you can give it to baby and have half yourself if you run out of time

Mum2jenny · 19/12/2023 21:03

The baby will be fine, but may wake up slightly earlier than expected if hungry. Not a big deal though

Smarshian · 19/12/2023 21:03

This probably feels very important right now, but in the grand scheme of things it really is ok.
You did feed your baby (milk) just not solids and she is in the very early stages of weaning. Chalk it up to a bad day, have a soothing drink and reset tomorrow

Ostryga · 19/12/2023 21:05

Don’t panic! They let you know extremely quickly if they think you’re starving them 😂

Dd didn’t eat reliably until 18 months - was quite bloody stressful! But can tell you one missed meal never harmed her. No need to worry, you’re doing great.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 19/12/2023 21:08

I did a starting solids nct course and they said that babies age 6-8 months are just experimenting with tasting food, only from age 9m + they start getting hungry for it. I have a 11 month old and I completely agree

HanSB · 19/12/2023 21:08

Under 1 years old they get their nutrition from milk - one missed day will do no harm

Saschka · 19/12/2023 21:09

If your baby had been hungry, they would have let you know. Babies are not slow to tell you when they want something.

PillowRest · 19/12/2023 21:11

Shell be fine! Lots of babies barely eat any food at 7 months, or haven't even started yet at 7 months if doing blw.

rosyglowcondition · 19/12/2023 21:11

Omg. This is my recurring nightmare even though my kids are heading towards teens. Needs a trigger warning 😂. Mind you I usually remember in my dream after about a week!

momager1 · 19/12/2023 22:19

its ok mum. You have not done anything any other one of us mums (now grannys) have done. You said she had all her milk. She is fine. AND you are a good mum or you would not have been on here posting about it. Just relax.

XmasPartyhat · 19/12/2023 22:22

But you did feed her? She had milk? She will manage without the 50 extra calories or whatever it is in a fruit puree pot.

Lollibert · 20/12/2023 13:37

@XmasPartyhat hi she doesn’t eat just fruit purée and basically eats whatever I eat in just mashed up I feed jarred baby food whenever I’m not cooking or if I’m cooking something unhealthy or if I’m out and I already feel like she eats too little of solids because she barely eats half a jar of baby food that has 7 month on the jar so she should be able to eat a whole jar my friends baby is the same age and eats everything and is always hungry for solids so even though she doesn’t eat much I still feel so bad as a mother that I forgot she’s my first baby and I’m still getting use to feeding her solid foods and still trying to get into the routine
