Small teat bottle tips!

Hello!

I have an 8 week old EBF baby, who we're trying to introduce bottles to with little success so far. He tries to take the bottle and gets some gulps down, but I feel like the main problem is that I have very small nipples and the teat is just huge to him.

(They're about 1cm long max on a big boob, he's used to latching a good chunk of areola too. He has a great latch, and feeds well - just seems overwhelmed by the Tommy Tippee teat being about 4x bigger than what he's used to.)

Does anyone have any small teat bottles they recommend? Or tips for helping him get the hang of the teat? Or do I just need to wait it out until his mouth is bigger?

For breastfed babies you want Lansinoh bottles x

My midwives recommended the MAM bottles which have a nice small teat with a tiny hole to slow the milk flow. I'd already shelled out on on tommee tippee by this time though. I am considering buying some Mam ones as they look really good.

I found Phillips Avent bottles worked well for my LO! I also had a similar issue to you, he also had tongue tie and these teats worked for him until his tie was sorted x

Thanks! I thought I'd be getting nipples more in keeping with the size of boob but they're titchy. At least he can feed off them properly, just a nightmare with bottles.
