Formula help, cmpa?

My baby is 14 weeks now and we have not had a good time with feeding.

She is now on anti reflux milk, it seems to help the reflux minimally but causes her extreme trapped wind-to the point she is squealing in pain

She is swallowing her wind, her poops are loose and always have been, she's been mucuousy from birth, trouble gaining weight etc

I have tried different bottles, different teats, different positions, everything

Im just at my wits end as she never seems happy around feeding time! Im wondering if she maybe has a bit of a CMPA or if her formula (anti reflux cow and gate) is just not agreeing with her and if I should just switch to a different anti reflux?

Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences? I have mentioned all of this to HVs and GPs and I have another appointment today as I'm not being listened to and I just know something needs to change im just not sure what

Aww poor baby. Definitely sounds like CMPA to me.

Is your appointment with the gp? The hv can't prescribe the formula you would need for cmpa.

We moved to aptamil pepti 1 after weeks of mucus poos. About 10 per day. Back arching and crying. Weight struggles.

If you are experiencing the same things maybe ask outright whether you should trial a hydrolysed formula. Don't let anyone say you should get lactose free formula - it's not the same as cmpa. If all goes well on a hydrolysed formula, you can then do a milk challenge where you reintroduce a scoop of normal formula to monitor if symptoms return. This will confirm the diagnosis so it's not that you'll have to use it forever if it's not the cause for your baby. I think it could be worth asking for a trial

@User9088 yes seeing the gp later this afternoon, hoping they won't fob me off again! Something is definitely not right. She was having more frequent dirty nappies prior to starting the anti reflux formula - probably about 6/7. Now they are still mucusy and loose, just less frequent. Lots of back arching, bloated and just generally unsettled bless her
I will try and suggest about the hydrolysed formula, thank you so much!

@babymom23 I hope things go well at your appointment. If they do prescribe a hydrolysed formula stick with it a few weeks. It wasn't an instant change for my little one as it takes a while to get over all the milk they've been having so far. The formula also tastes different (smells awful) so I would say it took 3 days before he would drink his full amount. DS is such a happy boy now we've worked this out so I hope you do get to the bottom of things too!
