The first infant milk is tightly regulated so think they're all fairly similar (so my HV told me, but obviously some babies seem to have aversions). We started with (and continued) Cow&Gate purely due to price and availability (local corner shop sold the small premade bottles open til 11pm so knew in a jam we had options, and the big tubs were affordable and widely available everywhere) and it was also what they offered in hospital. Other mums I know have faired well with Aldi, Aptamil and Kendamil too.

HV did tell us to stick with the first infant milk throughout and not to bother going onto stage 2/follow on milk as no extra benefit

Cow & Gate and Aptamil are the same and from the same company (happy to be corrected here) but C&G is much cheaper. We've had no issues.

Hipp Organic is good and widely available.

There is not much difference in formula as ingredients alre highly regulated. I have 2 teens brought on cow&gate, no issues at all, now using Aldi brand and baby is also doing well on it.

Changedmymind99 · 30/11/2023 21:51

Kendamil organic was great for us

SMA infant formula. That's what we got in hospital

As stated above, the formula industry is tightly regulated so they all have to adhere to strict nutritional guidelines.

They may be made with different ingredients but one is no better than another.

The best one is usually the one that's available on your nearest shop, especially at times like this when it's been freezing and snowing Wink

My advice would be to go with what is readily available to you at your local shops, with more than one shop selling it. It's all the same.
We use Cow and Gate.
