Mastitis - which antibiotic?

I have been diagnosed with mastitis while feeding my 9 month old. The Dr prescribed me Amoxicillin this morning but I had always been told flucloxacillin with the preferred option. Just wanted to check I had been prescribed the right antibiotic form others who have had it - thank you

I had flucloxacillin when I had mastitis.

Hope you feel better soon, in case you are receiving any outdated advice, they used to say pump, pump, pump and heavy massage, now a more gentle approach is recommended plus you can take ibuprofen. And keep drinking plenty. It’s horrible but hope it clears up quickly (if amoxicillin doesn’t work do ask for the other one).
