Weight gain

Hello,

My LO is 14 weeks today.

He was born on the 9th percentile and weighed 6lbs 7oz. He was following the percentile well up until 8 weeks and then he dropped in between the 9th and 2nd. For the last two weeks he had stayed the same at 5.10kg (approx 11lb 4oz) and has now hit the 2nd percentile.
The lady at the weigh in suggested I contact the GP for a referral.

He is EBF. A very quick feeder, 10mins max and I feed from one breast only due to recurrent mastitis on the other since birth. I offer him the breast twice to make up for only feeding one side. But once he's done his 5-10mins he won't accept it again. I offer the breast every 2-3hrs

I have tried breastmilk top and today paniced and mixed 45ml breastmilk and 35ml formula. But from a bottle he can barely drink more than 1.5oz. He never accepts a top up after a feed which suggests to me that he's full. He's a very content happy baby with regular wet and dirty nappies.

I don't want to get him weighed again and only went weekly as I was told by the team that I must and I must keep a check on his weight.

I guess what I'm looking for is some reassurance about weight gain/plateau and any similar stories where weight gain was slow but then sorted itself out?

FTM , sorry if it's a silly post. I know it's irrational but I can't stop worrying, esp as they want me to see a GP.

TIA

My DD has always been a little on the small side. The centile charts represent 100 babies so sine are at the bottom naturally.

A couple of things that helped with her were offering a feed every 2 hours in the day for a while and trying breast compressions. Interestingly, she was a similarly quick feeder.

This article from Kellymom might offer a few tips too Flowers
