Sorry long one. Looking for a bit of insight / someone else who has experienced this with their baby. My baby is 7 weeks old and she is combi fed due to latch issues at the start / delayed help resulting in weight loss so needed formula before milk came in and she still gets a bottle of that a night. Other than that we breastfeed using shields (again due to latch issue) and she has expressed milk when out and about / when convenient. The issue is she seems to have painful episodes which have been becoming more frequent over last 2 or 3 weeks, it happens throughout the day from morning now not just the evening. Her face goes red ..then she cries/ whimpers which can turn into screams and flinging her arms about and arching back. A lot of the time it does start when breastfeeding but not always, when it does she sometimes attempts to continue feeding but will moan at the same time with a panicked look in her eyes, other times she throws herself off and can't continue. Sometimes when this is going on I do hear her farting, and when it happens on her mat sometimes dribbles of poo come out with the fart. I just can't tell what this is? Trialed colief there for a week which was no help. The seemingly pain and looks on her face make me think its pain when trying to pass stools but other times it's fine? And we have just had an episode there, where she wouldn't feed from me because of it, but she's just taken a 4oz bottle fine straight after. It's driving me crazy attempting to diagnose this or figure out what it actually is most likely to be.
