Omeprazole suspension

My LO has been on omeprazole suspension for a while. We noticed a difference in him & he was taking it really well. The past few weeks he has gone off it, screams until he physically chokes & brings it back up. It’s so distressing for him & for me to watch. He has a second choking episode one evening & im now worried the omeprazole is obviously hurting him. Has anyone else had this or taken their baby off of it? We’ve been referred to the baby clinic but not sure how long that will take & when I told the doctor she didn’t say much just told me to record him choking

I’d be interested to know the answer to this also… my baby doesn’t seem to be taking it well either and is still being really sick! He can’t take gaviscon either.

My baby didn't take to the suspension at all, I think it was the higher viscosity, she just would scream and spit it out, to the point of choking as you mention.
She is taking the dispersible omeprazole, which we mix with apple juice to disguise the flavour and she takes it no problem.
I think the hospital pharmacist is thrilled, as the tabs are a fraction of the cost of the suspension!
