8 week old suddenly refusing bottle of EBM

My 8 week old was taking a bottle of EBM twice a week (mornings on weekends so I get a lie in!). We have kept it up since about week 3 and have had absolutely no trouble. Now he screams (probably hungry too)

Suddenly this weekend he’s refused a bottle yesterday and today. The milk is warm, his dad is giving it with me out the room. I tried BF then offering it and he didn’t cry but he just didn’t do anything with it.

I was due to have my first baby free evening for a few hours on weds and now looks like I can’t go, and I was hoping to start introducing formula. Has anyone got any tips or advice on this as I am now quite panicked! Don’t want to be EBF for the next god knows how long

Have you gone up a teat size?
Exactly same thing happened to me and took me a couple of weeks to realise it was due to the teat!
You can always make the teat bigger with a knife too

You could try a different brand of bottle? I found Dr. Browns really good but any one that mimicks the breast closely is worth a try.

When Dad feeds her, get the baby to nestle in one of your worn t-shirts which will have your scent.

There may be extra crying at first but baby will eventually have the milk if they're hungry.

I’ll try teat size! It’s still the first size so probably is a bit slow. Fingers crossed…
