I eat a lot of fibre could this be the reason for bf baby's flatulence?

Any thoughts?

Kellymom reckons reactions to mums food are actually quite rare. I've been studying what I'm eating as ds has gripy tummy but never considered all the whole grain I eat could be a problem.

What do you think?

Not a chance.

Fibre stays in your gut - that's why it is helpful for your digestion. Much of it is passed out with your poo (ahem - you did ask!). It does not get into the blood and then into the milk....I promise you!

i have heard both sides of this food affects breastmilk argument. my baby is being very unsettled at mo and i have given up caffeine and choc, he has improved on flatulence/colic front although i have tried lots of other measures too so no proof, BUT.. what i did read is that what you need to eat is lots of fat like avocado, olive oil, sardines, sausage rolls to prevent windy baby, I as just living off caffeine and mars bars for first few weeks of breastfeeding, so maybe you just need to balance the branflakes with some roast potatoes.

How in hell's name could you have fibrous breast milk, physiologically speaking?

Eat what you damn well want. Life with a small baby is tough enough!
