8Month - tips/tricks to get to drink water

Baby is 8 months, never been a big fan of milk but is now loving food. On 3 meals a day and snacks. Manage to get some milk into him during the night, in his cereal etc

but he just won’t take to water and I’m worried he will get dehydrated! He isn’t pooing as much and they are much firmer.

I have tried sooo many cups. Currently using the open top doidy cup and I have to put it to his mouth and get a few mouthfuls in but he will cry. I have tried the tum tum cup and yoghurt on the end etc. he just doesn’t understand to suck. He won’t take water from his milk bottles as he thinks it’s milk and doesn’t want it. How did you get your baby to drink water??

A tea set in the bath. At 8 months they’re a but young for 3 meals a day and snacks.

@Dessertinthedesert i thought that but when I spoke to health visitor this week she said it’s fine and food over milk even though I thought they should have milk as the main food until 1

to be honest I’m glad he is so I know he has food as he doesn’t really like milk, never been a fan of it. But he just won’t take to water yet

I was told by paediatric dietitian (seen due to allergy) 3 meals from 9 months and snacks from 12 months.

Just get in liquid in whatever way you can. Water play and food high in liquid are a good choice. Also let them drink water out of your glass.
