Ds is 14 months now and only has BF first thing, when I get home about 5pm and then before bed, with the odd time in the night. He drinks water the rest of the time. Should I be giving him something else as well? He is very happy and settled, but I just wondered if he needed more milk? He has lots of cheese, yoghurt etc but no other milk- what do you think? I always felt he got plenty of milk (I do feed him more at weekends if he wants it) but someone commented on it today and now I am unsure of myself.

If ds is growing fine and you have no other worries I would guess he is getting enough - also remember those fromage frais things have the equivalent of 4oz milk in them (or so my HV told me!)

When my dd was about a year old she went totally off milk and so pretty much drank water and had yoghurts and cheese etc - my ds is 17 months now and would drink milk all day if he could - both kids are healthy and fine - I would go with your instinct!

from 1 year 12-20oz is recommended but not all of that needs to be in drink form as milk in cereal, in foods, etc and other dairy products count too.
