Egg allergy in 8 month old - call GP?

Just tried egg and she came out in hives and projectile vomited.

Do we just not give it to her again? Or call the GP?

When ours did this with wheat (and barley, and egg), we called the GP each time. I'm not sure they gave even the tiniest toss, tbh, but at least we tried. Take photos of the hives - they might attach them to the record. Ours did.

They told us to give her wheat again until they reviewed the photos, at which point they told us to avoid it. I'd avoid it, if I were you! There's an egg ladder, though, so you may find your DC is fine with well-cooked egg but allergic to sloppy scrambled, for example.

I'd definitely calm them and ask, although you're unlikely to get, a referral to a paediatric dietician.

The main reason for getting it logged is that if she starts with an allergy to something else, you'll then have two different allergies logged and can afk for a referral to the allergy clinic.

Contact your GP.
My DS was allergic to eggs which caused major eczema flare ups. Please be aware some immunisation vaccinations contain egg protein.

Yes, you need allergy testing to check what else they are allergic to (if anything).

Google the top 14 allergens and take lots of care when weaning.

My daughter is allergic to egg and had a similar reaction to yours as a baby. The GP referred us to a paediatrician and she had allergy testing & annual check ups until about 3 years old when I felt that we didn't really need them anymore.
