Aptimal Pepti 1 = liquid poo?

DS 14 weeks has been on Aptimal Pepti 1 for 5/6 weeks and every nappy is like liquid poo - is this normal? It leaks all the time!

He’s also got reflux in my opinion but omeprazole didn’t seem to work - trialled for a week and GP said if no improvement not to carry on but I think the dose at the time was too high and causing stomach upset he was on the max dose at 8 weeks old which was 10mg.

He's sick after every feed and varies from a projectile to sick caused by burping and can be immediately during feed and throughout the day.

Got a dietician appt soon so will raise it then but for anyone else who has LO on Pepti 1 - was their poo liquid? Did anything resolve it?

GP won’t prescribe anything else until been reviewed now but I feel at my wits end with all the poo & sick. He’s a lot more settled don’t get me wrong which is nice see but the sick upsets him and he struggles to pass wind at times.

My little one has reflux & is on 2.25 mg omeprazole + Aptamil pepti. He was previously on Nutrimigen with made him pop up to 6/7 times a day explosive, now he’s been on pepti for a week & he’s constantly straining. He’s managed to go to the toilet once a day but yesterday I gave him some water to see if they would make it easier for him. It was like liquid when he did go & leaked out of his nappy everywhere.

@Nikki93 sorry to hear your LO has had trouble with it. How old are they? How come you’ve moved from Nutrimigen? I’ve no idea what the answer is why it causes this.

He was put on nutrimigen for suspected CMPA. It didn’t help at all so they’ve changed him to pepti 1 for a few weeks to try. Do you struggle to wind your LO? We’ve tried every position & he doesn’t want to bring wind up, then when he does he’s sick.

Hey, yeah we struggle with wind too however gripe water has helped this. He now burps well but is sick with each burp, is sick when he does tummy time etc it just doesn’t stay down. He struggles with passing wind too at times but I think most babies do anyway.

how old is your little one? Have you done a rechallenge with normal formula yet, I suspect the dietician will want me to do that soon as that’s the only way to confirm delayed Cmpa.

Awww your poor baby! It’s awful watching them bring their feed up all day. I did try gripe water but wasn’t sure if it was irritating his reflux so I might try it again. I wasn’t giving him a full dose was just dipping his dummy in when I felt he needed it.

He’ll be 11 weeks this weekend. No I actually phoned to ask about weaning him onto his normal formula & the doctor refused to take him off the nutrimigen so I saw another doctor a few days later who told us to try the pepti 1. I was told I’d be referred to a dietician too but they didn’t say when.
