5 month old feeding every 2 hours round clock all of a sudden

Hi, as title states... 5 month old has started feeding every 2 hours, day and night. She is exclusively breastfed and we were only feeding once or twice at night. Is a hunger increase at this age common? How do we know at night if she just wants comfort rather than milk? - she takes a full feed from both breasts and wont settle until fed. Don't normally feed to sleep during day so it's not the usual way of getting her to sleep again.
Any advice or similar experiences appreciated! Thank you

It's quite normal for them to go through phases like this, especially if she's trying to master a new skill, like crawling.

It could pass as quickly as it started without you actually doing anything.

And it's also unlikely to be comfort at 5 months she probably does need the milk.

Hi @SiouxsieSiouxStiletto thanks very much for the advice! She seems to be working on lots of new skills right now so could well be this

Yes I was going to say big growth spurt or new skill on the horizon! Also if they start dribbling/weird nappies it could be teething. Give it a few days and hopefully you'll soon be back to 'normal'.
