Colief poo smelling horribly

Hi everyone! My LO has been on colief drops for about 3 weeks now, she is 7 weeks old. I am not one to be scared by poo, however in the past 2 weeks her poo has been smelling HORRIBLY. I need to open the window and hold my breath otherwise I would be sick.

Does colief do this? Is it normal? Thanks!

That sounds more like an allergy or intolerance than colief. Presumably she had symptoms that prompted you to try colief in the first place? Have these improved?

Agree with ASOS

If, for instance, she has CMPA then this ciujd make her ooo smell pretty noxious.

Whentwobecomesthree · 26/09/2023 08:09

Yeah agree, the symptoms that made you try colief plus foul smelling poo is likely cmpa

Whentwobecomesthree · 26/09/2023 08:10

Sorry I shouldn't have said likely, I should have said it's worth considering whether it's cmpa.

Thank you, yes, I am lactose intollerant and she used to be really constipated and struggle so we though we would give colief a go. She is not constipated and is nice and happy, it's just the horrible smell I was not too sure about.

I am also not too sure how to go around xmpa with the gp, they didn't seem too open to investigate it when I mentioned...

How are you feeding? Formula or breastfeeding or both?
