When can I wear a nice bra again!

DD is nearly 10 months now. Have hung on in there with BF and am down to 3 times a day now. I go back to work in 6 weeks and will only be BF am and pm. Therefore no need for horrendous, greying, saggy nursing bra during day. Can I start wearing an underwired or will this bugger up BF? I want a nice bra and boobs off my belly for work!
Please tell me yes!

I gave up the awful bf bras at about 10 months, like you was only feeding morning and evening (and during the night). Go for it . You might want to be fitted again tho as your size may have changed.

I would be careful about having underwiring all day though especially if you have just cut down from 3 feeds... You can still get nice non wired ones, maybe only get a couple anyway as when you stop your boobs will prob shink more and then you can go really nice bra shopping, something which after 14 months of breat feeding I recently did, it was fun!

Can I hijack and ask how long after stopping completly can I go and get measured?
I stopped 3 weeks ago. I was down to one feed a day at that time - DD was a year. I 've been wearing my pregnacy non wired bras and really want to get re-measured

dd is still feeding at least 6 times a day and I've been wearing underwired feeding bras for months with no problems (hurrah for H&M)

peachy, get measured now but be prepared to change again

Thanks Mrs B I'm meeting a friend in London in another week or so and will drag her to John lewis

pamplemousse · 04/03/2008 19:36

Oh well I am obviously an idiot.

MrsBadger · 04/03/2008 20:00

didn't mean to stomp on you, pamplemousse

pamplemousse · 04/03/2008 20:02

I'll let you off cos you are always helpful!! I'm just a bit touchy for some reason, sorry I really thought underwiring was not a good idea when still bfing as it could lead to a blocked duct if it wasn't a perfect fit...

ninja · 04/03/2008 20:08

I went back to underwired at 6 months when I went back to work (and fed until 21 months). I was careful to get what seemed like more gentle underwired bras rather than eanything dramatic.

I'm sure you'd be fine

pamplemousse · 04/03/2008 20:14

Blimey I was schlepping around in hideous bras for far too long!!!

EffiePerine · 04/03/2008 20:16

It is immensely liberating when you ditch the feeding bras

What about the hotmilk range. Very sexy and you can get them on figleaves.co.uk
