Hi I was given the go ahead to introduce solids into my 4 1/2 month olds diet due to bottle feeding aversion by her dr has anyone ever been down this road? Was told by HV not to let her taste anything sweet so unsure what to get her as all the baby purées I’ve seen seem to be made with sweet veg like carrots or sweet fruits so very confused here I went with hipp baby rice because I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t sweet

@Cognitivedisonance can I let her eat a Ella’s kitchen 70g pouch if she wants to? Right now I’m only giving her a few spoonfuls of solids I’m so nervous she seems like she could eat more I do plan on making my own baby food eventually but for the time being I got hipp organic baby food and Ella’s kitchen

@Lollibert of course, it won’t hurt her she’ll stop when she’s had enough so let her enjoy it. but you want to be introducing really calorie dense foods asap so try and introduce veggies with real unsalted butter, mash made with cream etc asap before she gets so used to the purées she’s a pain to move on, if something doesn’t agree with her, she’ll let you know! But the trick is to let her eat as much as she wants and then introduce one new thing a week so you don’t get stuck on a handful of foods and get a fussy madam on your hands.

I was advised to feed my 5 month old purees. My baby loves carrots, I boil and then puree it. He didn't like peas unfortunately. My health visitor recommended cereals, so I give him the kendamil Banana porridge which he absolutely loves too!! Very easy to make. Just the powder and freshly boiled warm water. Going to try the peas again and going for broccoli this week
