CMPA help !

Hopeful1992 · 18/09/2023 16:07

My 10 week old was put onto aptamil pepti 1 at 6 weeks due to suspected CMPA. Symptoms were mucus poo, congestion and seemed to have an upset tummy.
he was loads better until last Friday when he suddenly started coming out in blotches on his chest and stomach immediately when drinking a bottle, it would then go down after 30 mins but keep happening. I called the DR who put him on Neocate and so he’s been on that since Friday, the blotches seemed to have stopped but his face is coming out in a rash again almost straight away with a feed as below. With this being dairy free is it likely to be the coconut oil that’s in the formula? Has anyone else had this?

I'd say he has CMPA and another allergy. Could you go back to the GP and ask for referrals to the Allergy Clinic and a Paediatric Dietician?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto hes been referred to a dietitian but the wait is a while on the NHS I believe, I may have to go private but I was of the understanding they don’t allergy test before 6m-1yr?

I’m back at the dr this morning to discuss, he’s gone 3 feeds without a flare up and then he’s just had one and it’s happened again, it’s so strange

They might not do allergy testing till 6 months but the wait to see the allergy clinic will probably be longer than that.

I agree that you need to go back to the GO Flowers

Hi
did you find out what was wrong? Been prescribed Aptamil pepti 1 for suspected CMPA, my DS had rash very similar to pictures and then exploded into eczema! It is awful!
