Dumb questions about formula feeding

Just switched over so am new to the preparation. So far I have been making one bottle at a time when I need it but have just been told I can prepare a few in advance with water. but that is all I was told so can I ask some probably dumb questions please. apologies in advance if these have been asked or answered many times before already.

If I fill up 5 sterlised bottles with boiling water do they then have to be stored in the fridge after they have cooled ?
Why ? - If I am just going to heat them up again ? Can't I just leave them on the side with the lid on ?
Can I use water in the kettle that has cooled or does it have to be boiling when I put it into the sterile bottle ?
I have also been told that I should be boiling the water for 4 mins minimum otherwise it's pointless and I may as well be just using cold filtered water - true or paranoid advice ?
Can I use cold filtered water and heat it up in the bottle ?

How bad are any of these things if I have not being doing it correctly over the past week or so ?

You can make up formula with cooled boiled water it doesnt have to be boiling when put into the bottle. POurit into a jug from the kettle will help it to cool quicker. Then transfer to the bottles. The water must have been boiled but not repeatedly boiled before the going into the bottles and the powder added. The have to be stored in the fridge so the bacteria cant grow/multiply. My son is FF. I make up his bottles in the evening with freshly boiled water. I then store them in a cupboard. I then heat each one up in the microwave for 20seconds and add powder.

This is how I was advised to do it by HV.
