Baby trying to pass wind only when feeding?

My 3 month old keeps going through stages of trying to fart everytime he's on the breast. These stages last a few days at a time. He will seem fine and then as soon as I start feeding him he squirms and strains trying to pass wind but as soon as I take him off again he stops.

I know it sounds more like reflux but he manages to get some of the farts out and its the same noises and movements that he makes first thing in the morning when trying to fart. It's not every time he feeds, either.

We've done everything-tried keeping him upright after feeds, burped for what feels like forever, bicycle legs, tummy massages, different feeding positions, had my latch checked, you name it we've tried it. I dont think its cmpa because he's not screaming or crying, but he is getting frustrated. I just don't understand why he's only doing it when on the breast. Health visitor doesn't know why he's doing it either.

I don't know what else to do, I feel like he's not getting enough milk or finishing feeds because he's constantly squirming, straining and losing the latch. His weight gain has also slowed in the last month and a half. Anyone have any ideas?

I though they all farted when they fed? Especially BFing? It's usually in one end and out the other
