Just finished with breast feeding DD2 who is a year old. Had a very positive experience feeding her (unlike dd1) and I'm pleased to have got to a year and I was ready to stop. It has gone really smoothly and it is lovely to not be her only source of milk but I am feeling really low and frazzled. This isnt like me as I am usually knackered but pretty cheerfully really. My husband is away so I am getting even less sleep than usual but I wondered if there was a hormonal component and if so how long does it last? Finding I have lost my general get up and go and resilience.

Yes there's def a hormonal component, but I can't tell you how long it lasts, as I haven't stopped feeding yet.

Ok, that makes me feel better. Suddenly have sympathy for people who get premenstrual, I just dont normally feel like this, not nice.

With my first two was bad for a couple of days, worst with no three because I wasn't pregnant again. Am dreading stopping feeding no 4 because of this.

So I'm looking at a few days really rather than weeks? I've only been completely stopped for 2 days had been cutting down before then.

Yes, I think so. Hope you feel better soon!
