How often do others feed their 5 mo?

I feel like I'm feeding my 5 mo all the time (during the day). I thought that I would be feeding him less as he gets older. How often have other people fed their 5 month olds?

i'm the same nessa with my 5mo. i don't pay attention to the times but it doesn't feel like it is any more or or less often than it was a couple of months ago. the only thing I would say is that the feeds are probably quicker.

Hmm...I am finding that some of the feeds are quicker..but in general they are just as long. I'm wondering if I won't start rice cereal this week, even though I know that he really won't be EATING it so much, but maybe it is time to start solids?

I feed ds at 7,11,3,5 (small feed),7 and then a dreamfeed at 10pm. He is 19 weeks.

my 5mo dd feeds about every 3-4 hours during the day but every 2-3 hours at night - wish it was the other way round! Co-sleeping probably encourages her to feed frequently at night and it's probably more for comfort than hunger.

Good question. I am getting anxious, and I am sure I needn't be.
My 3 1/2mth old feeds v regularly (bottle) 180ml every 4hrs. So, 6,10,2,6,10(asleep)2...
My health visitor started going on about charts and graphs and how he is gaining weight too quickly. But, when checking against measures on how much he should be getting it's right. Besides, he's not a fat baby- just normal! He was born quite mini though.

I am being told to get rid of the 2am feed (yeah, like I want to continue that!!!?), but I have tried over the last week or so, with water, or weak formulas, and all that happens is that he is then awake starving hungry at 4... and won't settle til I feed him again at 6....
Surely I am right on this one, and he just needs the calories?? I asked the HV whether I should feed him more in the day to see if that'll help reduce nighttime, and she was quite adamant he needed less altogether(!)
