Combi feeding BF/Formula

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to do combi feeding with BF and Formula. My 2 weeks old is BF really well and taking the bottle ok with expressed milk so far.

But expressing is way too complicated, so looking to feed her 70% BF and 30% FF.

But I cannot find any information online about the transition!

I was thinking of replacing one feed a day for a week, then two feeds a day etc.

Any suggestions? How did you do it?
Also any experience on combi feeding would be greatly appreciated :)

Which feeds are you thinking of replacing?

I think at this stage the night ones are the most important to keep as BFs until your supply is established Wink

I'd look into if there is a La Leche League group in your area. Lots of mums in my group combi feed/exclusively pump/ etc so it's been an invaluable source of info and there's no judgement and lots of peer advice from those who have been there done that. I've learnt so much and felt really supported since finding the group near me so hopefully there's one near you too.

Im struggling through the muddle that is expressing and formula feeding at the moment. Not really a clue what I’m doing. I just knew I didn’t want to directly breastfeed for various reasons but did want to try to give some breast milk if I could. Pumping is going to be the death of me though 😭 Especially when I wake up at 3/4am and remember I need to do it! Really starting to hate it and we’re only at 2 weeks but determined to get to 6 weeks if I can then keep it going but using the expressed milk from the freezer to replace the milk I’d usually pump. I’m just giving a bottle of formula right before bed then one in the middle of the night when she wakes up but the rest of the day she’s having lots of smaller bottles of expressed milk, at times 4 in a row 🙄 but determined to persevere
